Azure Cloud Engineer
Reporting to: Technology Applications Lead
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. You will play a crucial role in deploying and managing Azure infrastructure solutions, contributing to the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal IT and technical staff across business units.
- Support ongoing projects by deploying solutions to Azure infrastructure, including Purview, Front Door, Application Services, Identity B2B and B2C, Fabric, and analytics services.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of Azure-based solutions.
- Estimate solution costs and track expenses through deployment and operational phases.
- Enhance the organisation's technical maturity and capability regarding Azure infrastructure.
- Operate within a corporate environment with change control procedures and RBAC security.
- Communicate technical details effectively and identify project constraints and conflicting priorities.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure and DevOps on the Azure cloud platform.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure DevOps repos, pipelines, and service principals.
- Familiarity with Bicep templates, parameters, and deployment methods.
- Knowledge of Azure Verified Modules (AVM) is desirable.
- Experience with Azure billing, resource cost control, and planning.
- Strong documentation skills, including design diagrams and administrative instructions.
- Awareness of Azure security best practices and the ability to apply them to solutions.
- Excellent prioritization and self-management skills, with a self-starting attitude.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as
- AZ-400 DevOps Engineer
- AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect
