The role of Application Test Lead is to work with the development teams across a range of initiatives and business-as-usual activities for IP Australia to ensure business confidence in systems prior to release. The successful applicant will work in an Agile manner with other testers, quality assurance officers, developers, business analysts, product owners/managers, and delivery managers towards test sign off.
Your new role
The Application Test Lead initial role will be dedicated to the Design Systems Revitalisation (DSR) Project. You will be joining an established project which is redeveloping the IP Rights System for Design applications. The new system is being developed at PEGA Constellation and will integrate into existing IP Rights systems. You will be leading an agile test team which includes a junior and automation tester. You will be responsible for prioritising testing for the project to ensure that objectives are achieved. The identification of training needs allows for a smooth transition of project-specific skills, providing training and development opportunities for the ongoing support of the application.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated minimum of 3 years' recent experience leading multiple testers on one or more projects in a complex IT environment.
Demonstrated operational experience in developing and prioritising test cases. Identification of automation opportunities and ability to work with automation testers on development and execution.
Demonstrated experience testing for PEGA or similar development environments.
Demonstrated communication and liaison skills. Demonstrated ability to train other testers and relevant staff. Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality documentation.
As an experienced tester, sharing your skills and providing leadership to the team.
Undertake testing activities to ensure the quality of provisioned environments, IT applications and production system deployments.
Analyses of source documentation to derive and create appropriate and effective test cases.
Liaise with business analysts, developers, and other staff as appropriate to obtain clarifications in relation to source documentation / requirements.
Execute test cases based on priority and assess the impact of defects on the progression of testing.
Experience with IP Rights systems.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint.
Take responsibility for the monitoring and progress of defects raised.
Work independently and as part of a team to achieve testing outcomes in accordance with IP Australia testing methodologies.
Report on assigned projects or tasks in relation to status and progress of testing assigned.
Use Azure DevOps as your testing tool in DSR, and Jira for other operational requirements.
Use Confluence and SharePoint for testing documentation.

You will be required at the close of DSR to be prepared to be reassigned to one or more other projects, to continue to support the operational testing of DSR, and other activities as required. You will become part of the broader testing team and community, be included in and expected to contribute to team activities, including meetings and stand-ups.
