Your new role
Technical analysis and evaluation of the SQL database and API integrations layer of PIMS (information management systems), to produce documentation and artifacts on the database makeup and underpinning technologies
What you'll need to succeed
SQL database architecture (database design, data models, storage config);
API integration layer (API architecture, performance, security, best practice);
Existing performance (indexing, query performance, monitoring tools, backup strategy);
Security (access controls, encryption, compliance)
- Strong SQL knowledge for query optimisation, schema design, and data manipulation
- Knowledge of Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure architecture, services, and tools
- Skill in optimising database performance using tools (Query Performance Insight and SQL Server Management Studio)
- Knowledge of database security practices, including data encryption, firewall rules, authentication
- Expertise in setting up automated backup and defining recovery objectives
- Database analysis knowledge to evaluate database performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements
