What You Will Do:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the Defence and Federal government market, lead cross-functional teams, and leverage industry expertise and strategic insight to develop successful proposals and drive growth.
- Craft high-quality proposals that meet Government requirements and long-term goals. Identify and pursue business opportunities by researching contracts, tenders, and market trends within the Defence sector.
- Participate actively in the gating and bid/no-bid process to ensure alignment with company objectives. Lead the development of competitive proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements while differentiating Toll from competitors.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, HSSEQ, and technical subject matter experts, to develop proposals. Engage and coordinate with external suppliers and teaming partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and partners, to enhance business opportunities.
- Develop bid strategies, incorporating competitive analysis, pricing models, and value propositions that align with Toll’s capabilities.
- Represent Toll at industry events, client meetings, and conferences, effectively communicating the company's capabilities and strategic vision.
- Monitor competitor activities, emerging technologies, and market developments to refine business and bid strategies. Continuously improve bid performance by tracking key metrics, conducting post-bid reviews, and implementing lessons learned for future proposals.
Your Profile:
- A strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex challenges into tailored solutions.
- Proven experience in business development, particularly within Defence or Federal government sectors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel across Australia, as required.

About You
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Logistics Management, or a related field from a recognised institution - highly regarded.
- 7+ years in business development focusing on solution-oriented approaches, preferably in either the Defence or Federal government sector.
- Strong understanding of business development, including major bids and contract management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for thinking creatively and strategically.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret complex data and market trends.
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Superior leadership qualities, with experience in managing and motivating high-performing teams.
