HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for motivated General Service Officers/ Grounds Maintenance Officer to join a dynamic team responsible for maintaining Canberra's beautiful urban open spaces. If you enjoy hands-on outdoor work and making a difference in the community, this is the role for you!
About the Role:
- Undertake a range of outdoor maintenance activities including mowing, weeding, pruning, litter collection, and garden bed maintenance.
- Clean public amenities including toilets and shopping centre spaces.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance on horticultural and cleaning equipment.
- Support waste collection and tree maintenance operations.
- Ensure all tasks meet Work Health and Safety standards and service quality benchmarks.
- Work independently or as part of a supportive team.

About You:
- Previous experience in horticultural maintenance, cleaning operations or similar outdoor roles.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and the ability to follow WHS procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Confidence in using mobile technology for reporting tasks.
- C Class Driver's Licence is essential; MR Licence highly regarded.
- Willingness to obtain or already hold White Card, Asbestos Awareness, Traffic Control Plans and Silica Awareness certifications.
- Reliable, hardworking, flexible and a positive team contributor.
