Your new role
Working within a high-performing team of commercial lawyers, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting with strategic procurements i.e. various goods and services, major research equipment, IT contracts
- Negotiating various agreements which include educational services agreements, funding agreements, sponsorship agreements, tender documents, agency agreements, collaboration agreements with partner institutions and state/federal departments.
- Advising on different areas of law, including competition and consumer laws, IP, contract law, privacy laws, dispute resolution.
- Engaging with external counsel where required
What you'll need to succeed
- Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia
- Ideally, a minimum of 7 years' PAE with experience gained in a mid/top tier firm and/or reputable company
- Experienced in drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements
- Extensive experience in contracts and commercial law, the conduct of negotiations, the drafting of documents and the provision of advice in these and related areas
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships across a large, complex organisation
