Our state government client based in Perth is seeking a driven to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working full-time, 37.5 hours a week.
Your new role
Finance Compliance: Ensure all financial activities align with legislative requirements, policies, and directives.
Resource Allocation & Modelling: Develop, monitor, and review resource allocation models and reporting tools to support organisational goals.
Data Management & Analysis: Manage the collection, collation, and analysis of complex financial data and performance trends for strategic initiatives.
Budgeting & Reporting: Prepare internal budgets, budget variations, and reports for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with endorsed strategies.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders, support teamwork, and foster effective financial management practices.
Governance & Compliance: Adhere to relevant codes of conduct, safety standards, and legislative obligations while contributing to continual improvement initiatives.
Quality Improvement & Development: Actively participate in strategic projects, mandatory training, and quality improvement practices to support organisational sustainability and efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
Extensive knowledge of financial management practices, including the development of financial models, budgets, and management reports using modern systems and tools.
Strong experience in analysing and interpreting complex financial data and statistics, with advanced proficiency in data-driven reporting.
High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated conceptual thinking, analytical skills, and creativity in developing solutions and using initiative to address challenges.
Well-developed planning, organisational, and time management capabilities to achieve goals efficiently in complex environments.
Recognised qualifications in finance and accounting are desirable
