Your new role
As a Principal Primary Engineer, you will take on both technical and supervisory duties, ensuring the creation of high-quality designs for primary high-voltage (HV) systems. Working closely with Engineers and Designers across the business, you will leverage your expertise in primary engineering to develop effective HV system designs.
- Support engineering tasks, technical analysis, and report preparation
- Aid with the commissioning of high-voltage (HV) systems
- Contribute to the design, specification, and documentation
- Participate in substation primary design, including specification and documentation
- Keep team members updated on relevant developments affecting their work
- Offer technical guidance and engineering expertise to Project Managers as needed
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with substations and power systems
- Proven experience in a comparable role within the renewable energy or utilities sector
- Specialised knowledge in substation design and utility grid connections
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian industry standards
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
