About the role
Reporting to the Health Safety Environment and Quality Manager as the Safety Specialist you will be responsible for enabling our business-led safety culture; improving the performance of our business, our customers and our suppliers.
Key deliverables of the role include
- Be a mentor to stakeholders and influence others toward being leaders in HSEQ with-in their scopes
- Support in maintaining licencing requirements of our business and its workers; including the accreditation of staff in new markets
- Drive and embed the Opportunity & Risk Management Framework
- Assist in maintaining our ‘ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety’, ‘ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems’ and ‘ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems’ and ‘Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner’ accreditations
- Provide operational support by attending customer meetings
- Conduct infield verification activities, safety conversations and inspections
- Developing and contributing to project documentation
- Reviewing contractor documents, and responding to customer requirements
- Drive value for customers and suppliers by providing insight and contributing to improved performance through-out the value stream (inside and outside our business). As an example; working with a head contractor in a meaningful way regarding safety performance on their site including our business and other activities
About you
- Demonstrable experience leading safety within high-risk industries
- Working knowledge of WHS Legislation, Australian Standards, and applicable industry codes
- Able to develop complex relationships
- Commitment to organisational learning
- Inquisitive nature
- Driven to deliver results
- High proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of applications
- Driver’s licence to allow for travel between locations
- Tertiary qualification in work health and safety or engineering desirable
- ICAM Lead investigation training desirable
- Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) desirable
