About the role
The Site/project Engineer is responsible for delivering a high quality service by providing expertise to meet the quality and cost expectations of our customers.
Note: Ausconnex is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy which will see the volume and scope of maintenance services expand. Maintenance services will be provided on both customer and Ausconnex assets.
Key Accountabilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take personal accountability for achieving both individual and shared project outcomes.
- Collaborate with consultants to ensure accurate pricing details and precise drawings.
- Assess risks and opportunities with subcontractors, incorporating findings into pricing and scheduling.
- Prepare and complete tender scope of works while coordinating site visits with subcontractors.

About you
An exceptional communicator with experience in developing business cases and a strong ability to manage stakeholders and negotiate effectively. You have a deep understanding of customer needs and can translate them into successful project outcomes. With strong project management skills, you can balance multiple priorities and drive results while proactively identifying and managing risks that may impact customers and assets.
You have proven experience in delivering utility projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and a strong understanding of their design, construction, and maintenance. Your commitment to continuous learning is evident through your excellent research skills and keen interest in emerging energy technologies. Your high proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications enables you to work efficiently. Additionally, basic knowledge of surveying and civil design software such as AutoCAD, 12D, or Civil3D will be highly regarded.
Qualifications and Licences
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or construction management
- Experience in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design, construction, and maintenance
- Driver’s licence to allow for travel between locations
