Hays is delighted to partner with FightMND in the recruitment of a Research Manager to effectively manage and oversee FightMND’s Cure Research portfolio.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Director – Research and Programs, you will engage with research and government stakeholders, providing oversight on FightMND’s Cure investments and fostering connections and collaborations within MND and research sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategy: Develop cure research strategy, impact frameworks, and partnerships.
• Project Management: Implement and manage research programs, identify gaps, and develop new initiatives.
• Operations: Oversee grant schemes, provide scientific oversight, and manage media enquiries.
• Reporting: Create outcome reports, prepare updates for the Board, and evaluate program impact.
• Stakeholder Management: Build relationships, represent FightMND, and manage the scientific advisory panel.
What You'll Need to Succeed
With a Master’s degree in medical science or a relevant discipline, you will have a proven track record in a Research Manager or Research administration role, ideally within the healthcare sector or government. This will be supported by:
• Experience with program or portfolio management, including managing projects and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience managing research stakeholder relationships.
• Experience communicating complex scientific concepts to a non-scientific/lay audience.
• Strong experience managing a team or direct reports.
• A solid understanding of the government and non-government funding landscape.
