  • Solicitor Grade IV (between $134,483 - $137,071 plus super & annual leave loading)

 About us
 
Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.
 
About the role
 
The Legal Officer provides advice and representation to clients of Legal Aid NSW, including working across a variety of complex cases and providing services, in accordance with Legal Aids NSW policies and guidelines. You will provide high quality legal services to clients and assist them to resolve their legal problems while at the same time be responsible for leading and supervising junior legal staff.
 
 
About you
 
We are looking for an experienced Solicitor who has worked on a variety of complex matters, providing statutory interpretation by way of conducting legal research and providing legal advice and advocacy to your clients. Previous people management skills is highly desirable as this role requires you to supervise and mentor junior staff when working with your clients.
 
We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

The essential requirements for this role
 
You must:
 
  •  be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
  •  hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
  • be highly experienced in human resource processes and best  practice processes
  • have high levels of experience in SAP SuccessFactors
