As a member of the Property & Housing leadership team, you will oversee asset performance and help unlock the full potential of Uniting’s property portfolio. From strategic asset planning to delivering maintenance programs and capital works, your work will enable safe, sustainable, and inspiring spaces across our aged care, housing and community service settings.
You'll also serve as the Asset Management representative for new builds and major refurbishments, acting as the project champion to ensure long-term functionality, cost efficiency and lifecycle value are front of mind from the outset.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a high-performing Property team
- Prepare and implement localised Asset Management Plans
- Provide expert input on new builds and refurbishments
- Identify opportunities for income generation and asset enhancement
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external contractors
- Oversee delivery of maintenance, upgrades and minor capital works
- Ensure all properties meet WHS, regulatory, and operational standards
- Contribute to organisational strategy through collaborative, cross-functional work
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that embraces continuous improvement
About You
You’re a confident and collaborative leader who brings both strategic vision and operational insight to asset management. You know how to navigate complexity and competing priorities, while keeping people at the centre of every decision.
You will bring:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar asset or facilities management role
- Demonstrated experience in managing building compliance, WHS, and asset lifecycle planning
- Proven ability to deliver asset-related input into construction projects and refurbishments
- Strong people leadership skills and experience managing external suppliers
- High-level communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Sound commercial acumen and risk management capability
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to influence across organisational boundaries
Even better if you have:
- A relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Property or similar
- Experience in the aged care, housing, or not-for-profit sectors
