Our Customer Assets team is dedicated to driving the adoption of behind-the-meter (BtM) products and energy solutions, contributing to the growth of our Virtual Power Plant (VPP).
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Customer Assets Business Development Lead to join our team. This role is pivotal in both creating strategic relationships and managing a network of channel partnerships to expand the reach of our BtM energy products, including solar, battery storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
- Execute a channel partnership strategy to grow and expand the distribution of BtM energy products and customers.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new channel partners, including contractors, installers, retailers, and project developers.
- Negotiate partnership agreements, define co-marketing and sales programs, and manage ongoing partner relationships.
- Monitor partner performance, track key metrics, and implement strategies to optimise channel sales and customer experience.
- Research and respond to relevant grant opportunities, RFPs, and other funding sources to support the commercialisation of our VPP.
- Collaborate with the product management team to provide market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence.
- Represent EnergyAustralia at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand awareness and partnership opportunities.
About You
- Significant experience in business development, channel management, or sales in the energy industry.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing strategic partnerships, particularly in the distributed energy, smart home, or EV sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of BtM energy technologies, including energy storage and EV charging infrastructure highly advantageous
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing market data, identifying trends, and translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience in identifying, writing, and winning grants, RFPs, and other funding opportunities for energy projects.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, energy, or a related field preferred.
