Hays are partnering with a well known organisation in their search for a Health & Safety Officer to manage one of their sites on a permanent, full-time basis.
Your new role
The site is based on the West Coast, and reports to the Health & Safety Manager. You’ll be providing guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders on safe work practices and return to work activities. You will also work on policies, training, reducing workplace hazards and risks all surrounding workplace health and safety, across the site.
You will need to have proven experience ensuring compliance in line with current Australian acts, support injured workers through the RTW process and also be able to manage workers compensation claims efficiently.
The right person for this role is also a collaborative worker who will take on board concerns and ways of working from leaders, managers and workers to be able to appropriately develop best WHS practices for site. For this exact point, you will also be a great communicator.
What you'll need to succeed
You will hold a certificate in Workplace Health & Safety and also have proven experience in the Safety Industry. As well as being a collaborative worker, you will also have the ability to work independently across the site. You need to hold a strong work ethic but also be personable to be able to work with all stakeholders.
If based on the NW Coast, travel is required to the site on a 4 day on, 3 day off roster. Accommodation is provided.
