About the Opportunity:
Reporting into the Principal Cloud Engineer, the Solution Designer will have a strong background in design, integration & API development – you will play a role in clarifying requirements, designing solutions ensuring they align to security standards. Additional responsibilities include:
- Gather and document information on external systems to understand their capabilities and limitations
- Design solutions on AWS that are aligned with the organisation's target state and architectural principles
- Work closely with various technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify and understand the business requirements
- Create and modify API specifications as needed to support the integration and functionality of systems
- Identify and evaluate suitable integration patterns that will work seamlessly with existing and new systems
- Advise potential dependencies and risks associated with the proposed solutions.
About You:
You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering resilient, reliable and scalable solutions that support the wider organisation and our over 2 million customers. To be successful in this role you will need some of the following experience:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems or formal training through a focused, reputable provider (eg. General Assembly)
- Proven experience in solution design, system integration and API development on AWS
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and best practices
- Excellent communication & documentation skills
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum processes and/or DevOps concepts including CI/CD
- Development skills in one or more of the following:

- Web: JavaScript/Typescript
- BackEnd/Integration: nodejs, nestjs, restAPI’s,
- Observability: New Relic, CloudWatch
- Development: Docker, Azure, Git, VsCode
- Cloud: AWS
