John Holland has recently been announced as the preferred partner to deliver the Inland Rail, Illabo to Stockinbingal (I2S) works in NSW and we are seeking internal expressions of interest (EOI) to be part of the team that will deliver this critical project.
About Inland Rail
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
What is needed?
We are currently looking to speak to Project Engineers to work with our utilities team on our newly awarded Illabo to Stockinbingal project (I2S).
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Play a key role in the accurate forecasting of costs and revenue
- Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier/subcontractor quotations and purchase orders
- Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour
- Review design and construction plans, schedules, and method statements to ensure constructability
- Monitor project progress against the programme and budget
- Effectively assign task. to project team members to deliver the requirement outputs to agreed specifications
- Prepare accurate project reports
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Experience of working on large infrastructure projects
- Strong experience in Groundworks and Civil Utilities
- Understanding contemporary practices in construction methodology on infrastructure projects
- Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
- Excellent time management and prioritisation
- Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures
About You:
- Willing to FIFO/DIDO to remote locations in NSW
- Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)
- Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projects
- Or, willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal
