About the Role 

Join our vibrant Advancement team as a Senior Coordinator, Fundraising Operations! As a key player in Gift Operations, you'll be at the heart of crucial functions, from gift establishment and documentation to supporting overall Advancement targets. In this role, you'll support our fundraisers by offering expert Gift Policy advice and preparing essential documents. You'll also have the exciting opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to team leadership, making a real impact on our operations and team growth. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing expert understanding of policy and legal frameworks as they relate to gifts and donations primarily in Australia and to an extent, internationally. 
  • Providing expert advice to Advancement staff on receiving gifts which the University can accept and administer. 
  • Drafting gift documentation which records the University’s understanding of the donor’s wishes; liaising with a range of internal stakeholders in Legal & Risk, Finance, and the benefitting area to ensure smooth handover. 
  • Proactively leading continual improvement of processes and tools to support best practice gift management. 

Job Requirements:

Who We Are Looking For 

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who excels in customer service and stakeholder management, with a proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion. You’re adept at problem-solving, prioritisation, and producing accurate, policy-compliant documentation. Curiosity and innovation are key to you; you’re eager to take ownership of your part of the process and offer insightful suggestions for continuous improvement. 

Your background might include experience in law practice with strong drafting skills, a finance or business background with solid operational experience, or a degree in the arts with exceptional writing skills. 

You will also have: 

  • Proven ability to understand complicated organisational policies (particularly policies related to gift funded activities), regulations and/or other frameworks, and apply them to a variety of business scenarios. 
  • High level of digital literacy, with particular proficiency in finding and sourcing information from a variety of applications and databases.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

Your New Team – Advancement and the Gift Operations Team  

The Advancement Office aims to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, friends and benefactors. It is responsible for the management of programs relating to alumni and benefactors and provides services to and works collaboratively with faculties and other central administration areas. 

The Gift Operations team provides a range of services relating to the establishment of new gifts to the University, receipting of gifts and coordinating the annual gift financial reporting program.
