About the Role
As Program Lead, Careers and Mentoring you will deliver programs that support the University’s alumni and stakeholder engagement objectives. Primarily this comprises working strategically to continue strengthening relationships between the University and its alumni, through designing and implementing careers and mentoring programs. You will work as part of an Alumni Relations team who are responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s alumni and stakeholder relations strategy, and implementation of stakeholder engagement programs and activities across the Advancement portfolio utilising both face-to-face and digital elements as appropriate.

You will manage a small team to support the implementation of programming focused on careers and mentoring. Contributing to communications, discovery, research and information gathering on alumni, as well as database management, are also core components of the role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing programs for alumni cohorts focused on career and professional development
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver high-quality mentoring programs, both pan-University and bespoke
  • Working in collaboration with Faculty clusters, shared services teams and the broader Advancement office to identify and implement a limited number of programs of smaller-scale, focused alumni and stakeholder engagement activities, events and services

Job Requirements:

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a leader who can delivering programs through a shared services model of mass and cohort audiences whilst leading a team and showcasing outstanding interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively.  You will have superior written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy.  Your demonstrated capacity to prioritise between competing deadlines, to deliver projects and events within short time frames and on budget will be critical to the role.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (PR, management, communications) with extensive relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and /or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering engagement activities to achieve strategic goals and objectives in a collaborative manner across a large organisation
  • Experience in managing complex relationships to effect positive outcomes and advance organisational objectives

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

The Advancement Office aims to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, friends and benefactors.
