About the role
 
The Senior Work Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for delivering a range of WHS, Injury Management and Wellbeing programs and initiatives including the Peer Support Program to enable Divisional outcomes and support the achievement of Legal Aid’s strategic plan/objectives.

Being a member of the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Team, you will have outstanding thinking skills, balanced with an ability to deliver innovative solutions for the business. This role will have influence and responsibility for providing accurate and timely advice to stakeholders and management. You will be the kind of WHS professional that is driven to find real solutions that make sense, that matter and will make a difference to the safety and wellbeing of our staff.  
 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced WHS professional to complement existing services offered, and to support our Legal Aid networks. We are looking for those who can partner with the business, implement change, and embed best practice.
 
You will be managing standalone projects in addition to business-as-usual activities and will be required to develop strong internal relationships and be independent in managing your areas of responsibility.
 
We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

The essential requirements for this role
 
You must:
 
·       Be willing to do a criminal record and online referee check
·       Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
·       Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Human Resources or equivalent
·       Extensive demonstrated experience in WHS and an understanding of current legislation and policy
·       Membership of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC), Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA) or equivalent
