The Opportunity:

 

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) has several opportunities within the Central Group Business Service Support Team (BSS) at the APS4 and APS5 classifications.  

 

The Central Group Business Service Support Team (BSS) provides service delivery to NIAA offices and Government Engagement Centres across the Northern Territory which include Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and remote communities. BSS team members are primarily located in Darwin and have team members in Alice Springs and Katherine offices. 

 

Service delivery varies from office administration, fleet management, property management, merchandise and uniform management and corporate support to head office with workplace health and safety and emergency management.

 

APS4 - Regional Corporate Support Officer

 

The role has work program and stakeholder management responsibilities, working under the specific direction and support of senior staff. They are responsible for the effective and efficient management of a variety of administrative tasks in the team. They assist in delivering high quality professional corporate services to the Group. They may also work in small projects in the team.

 

This role may include some or all of the following duties:

 

•                    contribute to culture that aligns with NIAA Values and Behaviours and is dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes

•                    utilise the systems and procedures in place for services offered including accommodation and facilities management, accounts processing and stakeholder management

•                    work collaboratively with business areas and individuals to deliver services to stakeholders. Seek expert advice and guidance from others to address complex or unusual scenarios, resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes

•                    participate in the development and implementation of projects to improve NIAA corporate services

•                    actively building and maintaining productive relationships and inclusive networks with internal and external stakeholders to deliver defined services and outcomes.

 

APS5 - Regional Corporate Officer

 

The role has work program and stakeholder management responsibilities and is expected to be conducted with limited direction. They undertake activities in the team to assist in delivering high quality professional corporate services administration to NIAA. They may also undertake management or work in small projects in the team or work in larger projects in the branch.

 

In addition to the above, your duties will also include:

 

•                    effectively monitoring and reporting on team and project performance and workload

•                    implementing remedial action as required to ensure performance indicators are met and quality is maintained

•                    coordinating and monitoring team workflow and complete personal work allocations

•                    undertaking planning and implementation of small scale projects in the team

•                    undertake reviews using internal quality assurance and continuous improvement processes. Identifying opportunities to enhance team and branch performance in an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement and change. Working with branch leadership when implementing changes, using Agency continuous improvement practices.

APS4 - Regional Corporate Support Officer

 

The Regional Corporate Support Officer is professional and approachable, providing assistance and services to a range of internal and external stakeholders and team members. They make decisions within defined legislative, policy and procedural parameters and offer suggestions for small scale improvements to processes within the team or branch.

 

Additionally candidates will have: 

 

•                    well-developed interpersonal skills and capacity to develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes

•                    the ability to provide timely and quality responses to enquiries, in writing and verbally

•                    ability to identify emerging opportunities or issues and respond quickly to competing priorities as they occur

•                    an understanding of cultural competency and experience in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.

 

APS5 - Regional Support Officer

 

The Regional Corporate Officer collaborates with a range of internal and external stakeholders and networks. They contribute to NIAA outcomes through effective advice and guidance on corporate services matters. They coach and share expertise and technical knowledge with others in the team and more broadly across the branch.

 

Additionally, candidates are:

 

•                    self-starters, who demonstrate good judgement, are organised and results oriented

•                    knowledgeable and have sound judgement, professionalism and have the capacity to work flexibly and responsively to achieve results

•                    well-developed interpersonal skills and capacity to develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes

•                    attentive to detail and be able to adapt quickly to competing priorities

•                    proactive leadership to deliver on high quality, client focused outcomes

•                    high level of cultural competency and experience in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.
